Bussum Bridgehead 1997

Bussum Bridgehead is the largest historical military event in the Netherlands. This World War Two re-enactment event is organised by Stichting Militair Depot. Bussum Bridgehead is held annually in May at Camp Crailo, a military exercition area near the village of Bussum. Present were re-enactment groups from Holland, Belgium and the UK. Sunday the event was open to the pubic and a militaria fair was held. On this page you can see some photos I took during my visit to the 1997 Bussum Bridgehead.

Heavy stuff. Two GMC trucks, a Bedford radio-vehicle, a Canadian built Otter, an International half-track  and a M-24 Chaffee Light tank as used during World War Two. The Otter, M3 and Chaffee are part of the collection of the Dutch Cavalry museum. See also the Dutch Cavalry museum page .

Dodges..... A  Weaponcarrier,  a softtop ambulance next to a  6x6 GMC, a Dodge WC-54 (look at all the items on this vehicle: wiring, cammo-net and watercan) and two more DodgesWC-54 as used by the US Signal Corps during World War Two. 

Jeeps served on any battlefield. Used by all the Allied nations and even by the Germans during the Battle of the Bulge. Look at those details and equipment.
